I was pretty homesick there for a couple days but eventually I turned it around. Step 1: put my pink pants on and go for a walk..or a sit, around Little Italy
sitting, out of the apartment in the park by this big beautiful church
A few days later, feeling just about back to normal, I put some red lipstick on and went exploring in Vieux Montreal...
Romantic dinner for two-Mardi Miam
That night..."Mardi Miam" me and Annick's weekly dinner night. This week it was fresh carrot-ginger soup with croque-monsieur au fromage gruyère, carmelized red onion and sauteed apples. Delish!
Miam!
St.Patrick's Day...
St.Patrick's Day in downtown Montreal
This morning, gorgeous weather-It's off to the Marion family brunch. Me and Annick, very proud and aware of our 'brunch-appropriate' outfits. Soft pinks and gold jewelry = Perfect springtime brunch attire
Family fun in the sun
Passé Composé: the best brunch I have ever had.
Me and mini-Estelle
Like father like daughter
(I'll be getting to use Jer's Canon 7D soon so this blog is going to start looking pretty cute in a few weeks, a whole new thing for sure, cant wait!)
...I love my hair like this. How well do my nails and lipstick match the sweater eh?
On a slightly more depressing note...
The suitcase remains. I am a notoriously amazing unpacker- the minute I get home from any trip I've got all my toileteries put back in the bathroom cabinet, the laundry is turning and the luggage put back in the closet...yet I still haven't gotten around to this one. It's been almost a week since I got back from Vancouver and I refuse to believe I'm not going back out in a few days, or that I'm not hopping a plane to Winnipeg for a visit next week.
It's been a rough few days but things are getting better. The sun finally came out today so that helps...

back deck/yard, blue skies-finally
Also Joannie is spending the afternoon here doing her studying so the company is good!
When I feel like crap, I smile-editate.
You know that song by Charlie Chaplin that Nat King Cole/Michael Jackson sang?
It's funny because while in the last few decades, everyone has been told never to cover up sadness and to cry if you're sad, let it out. But the advice in these lyrics-written in 1954, I like better. It actually works. The simple act of physically smiling tricks your brain into releasing endorphins that actually make you feel happier. Check out this article. So anyways, I sat and smiled and felt a million times better. Seriously, try it..after a few minutes I was like-in hysterics, it feels ridiculous but also fantastick.
